Switch any time

Click the palette button in any look, or press P. You can also choose "Change look…" in the ⌘K palette, or open Settings › Appearance. Changes apply instantly, with Undo.

High contrast, your way

Six accent colors plus Custom, each at least 12:1 on black. Soft, Strong or Maximum contrast, a dark or light background, text at 100, 115 or 130%, a thicker focus ring and reduced motion. A live WCAG readout shows your text and accent contrast as you change them.

Every category is a textured planet orbiting a spiral galaxy, drawn right on your device. Click one to see its sites. Spatial memory does the rest.

Three levels, Universe → Galaxy → World, that scale from 10 links to 10,000.

Free is local-first: no account, no ads, and usage analytics only if you opt in. Your links, workspaces, notes and to-dos stay in your browser via chrome.storage.local, and we can't see them. Want your setup on every device? Optional Pro sync keeps it in your own account, protected by per-user row-level security and encrypted in transit and at rest.

While Orbit is installed, the only outbound request by default is for icons of your saved links (DuckDuckGo receives each site's domain). Weather (Open-Meteo), the daily photo (Picsum) and analytics are off until you turn them on.

Common questions

Does it slow down my browser?

No. Orbit Station only runs on your new tab page and never injects scripts into the sites you visit. Planets are drawn once on your device and cached, so a new tab opens in a blink.

What about my privacy?

Free Orbit Station is local-first and private: no account, no ads, and usage analytics only if you opt in. Your links, workspaces, notes, and todos stay in your browser via chrome.storage.local and we cannot see them. Cross-device sync is an optional Pro feature — when you choose to sign in, your own data is synced to your private, account-scoped storage protected by per-user row-level security. While Orbit is installed, the only outbound request by default is for icons of your saved links (DuckDuckGo receives each site's domain). Weather (Open-Meteo), the daily photo (Picsum) and analytics are off until you turn them on.

Can I go back to the default new tab?

Yes, instantly. Just disable or remove the extension from your browser's extensions page and your original new tab returns. You can also export your workspaces, links, tab stacks and settings as a JSON file first, so you never lose your setup.

Can I change how it looks?

Yes. Orbit Station 1.8 has six looks: Clean (the default for new installs, dark or light), Galaxy (the signature look, with your workspaces as planets), Focus (one big clock, one intention and a timer ring), Photo (five illustrated landscapes, a different one each day), Paper (an editorial page for reading) and High contrast. Switch with the palette button in any look, the P key, "Change look…" in the ⌘K palette or Settings › Appearance. Changes apply instantly, with Undo. Which browsers are supported?

Any modern Chromium-based browser. Safari and Firefox support is planned for a future release.

Pro (US$4.99/month or US$39/year) adds optional cross-device sync and cloud backup, with a 14-day free trial — cancel anytime, and you won't be charged until the trial ends.

How does cross-device sync work?

Cross-device sync is an opt-in Pro feature. Sign in once with Google, turn on sync, and your galaxies, links, notes, todos, and settings stay mirrored across every Chrome browser you use, updating in near real-time. Your data lives in your own account-scoped storage with per-user row-level security, encrypted in transit and at rest. You can turn sync off or export your workspaces, links and settings as JSON at any time.

How is this different from Momentum?
